If the waste pile shows a 7, any 6 or 8 on the tableau is playable. That narrow rule creates constant micro-decisions, because each removal exposes new cards and changes what is available next.
Managing the Draw Pile
When no tableau card matches, you draw from the deck and place it on the waste pile. The draw pile is finite, so every draw is a resource. Rushing through it reduces your margin for error later. The game ends when the tableau is empty or the deck runs out, making card counting and sequencing more important than they first appear.
