To play HexArena.io, use WASD or mouse to move the camera, and Q/E or mouse wheel to zoom. Left-click to interact with tiles and structures. Your goal is to capture the opponent's capital or have the most tiles by the end of the timer. Claim neutral tiles by paying 1 gold, or use armies to capture enemy tiles. Gold is earned from villages over time, which you can use to train armies, build structures like camps, towers, and castles, or upgrade houses for more income. Spread out to claim villages and gain positioning, but be careful with your spending—higher income doesn't guarantee victory if gold is wasted. Send armies with purpose to flank opponents or defend your territory. Surrounding enemy or neutral tiles captures all inner tiles, so strategic positioning is key. The game offers 1v1 and 2v2 modes, balanced by ELO, and you can spectate matches while queuing.
